LOCATION:  VOLGHYRA XII

 

In the year preceding the Siege of Terra, a number of forces began to converge in preparation for that climactic battle. One such force was War Fleet Gestalt-12, comprised primarily of elements of V, VI, IX and XIX Legions. Upon cessation of operations at [REDACTED] the adhoc battle group attempted to make its way towards Sol to assist with the systems defence.

Forward scout assets identified that the world of Volghyra XII was being garrisoned by a force of Traitor Legions, primarily comprised of IV, XII, XIV and XV Legions. Volghyra XII was the primary supplier of Promethium in the sector and was being used as a resupply post by the heretic forces.

Following deliberation on the correct course of action, forces of the IX Legion took the executive decision to engage with the forces in the sector, launching a lightning strike. A 48 hour engagement period was designated in which the War Fleet attempted to prosecute its objectives before resuming its course

Event Overview

The Raid on Volghyra XII is a two round Horus Heresy event. Players will be allocated to the Loyalist or Traitor faction and will play two rounds using the core Horus Heresy - Age of Darkness ruleset.

Victory Conditions
At the end of the first round the total VP scored by both factions will be compared and an Apex mission will be determined depending on if Loyalists or Traitors emerged victorious in Round 1. VP scored in the Apex Mission will count double towards the total VP score of each faction.

At the end of Round 2, the total VP scored by each faction will be compared and the fate of Volghyra XII will be written according to the whim of the victors.
